It is so important to attend routine cancer screenings. Early detection saves lives. In Lewisham, you may be invited for:

  • >Breast screening: women aged 50 to 71 are invited every 3 years. You’ll be invited by your GP. Contact your GP if you are transgender or non-binary.
  • Cervical screening: anyone with a cervix aged 25 to 64 is invited every 2 to 5 years. 99.8% of cervical cancers are caused by HPV infection.
  • Bowel screening: anyone aged 50 to 74 is invited every 2 years. You’ll be sent a home testing kit in the post if you’re registered with a GP.
